Commission Terms & Conditions

MPB × Production Paradise creative commission

1. About this commission

OFF BRIEF (the "Commission") is a paid creative commission jointly presented by Production Paradise, operated by Production Media Network, Talent Garden, Carrer de Ramón Turró, 169, A, 08005 Barcelona, Spain (V.A.T. number ESB63519847, Company Registration Number 08150063268), ("Production Paradise", "we", "us") and MPB, operated by MPB GmbH, Bülowstraße 56/57, 4OG, 10783 Berlin ("MPB"). Production Paradise administers the Open Call and selection process; MPB sponsors the Commission and provides equipment on loan to the selected photographers.

By submitting an application, you (the "Applicant") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Eligibility

You must be a professional, semi-professional, or content-creator photographer residing in the European Union.

You must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.

Employees (and their immediate family members) of Production Paradise or MPB, and anyone professionally involved in organising the Commission, may not apply.

One application per person. Applications submitted on behalf of a studio or collective must name a single lead photographer responsible for delivery.

3. How to apply

Applications are submitted via the online form linked from the Commission landing page at productionparadise.com. You must provide, at minimum: your name and contact details, a portfolio or samples of your work, a written outline of your proposed idea in response to the Commission theme ("Take a detour"), and the MPB equipment you would like to loan for the project.

Applications must be received by 30 November 2026, 23:59 CET. Late applications will not be considered.

4. Selection

Production Paradise will first review and shortlist applications. Production Paradise and MPB will then jointly select three (3) photographers to take part in the Commission, based on the strength and originality of the proposed concept, the fit with the Commission theme, and the quality of the applicant's existing portfolio.

The selection panel's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding individual applications. Selected photographers will be notified by email; results will be announced publicly in early December 2026. Applicants who are not selected will not receive individual feedback and are not entitled to any compensation.

5. The commission

Each of the three selected photographers will receive a commission fee of €2,000 (before any applicable tax), payable 50% upon confirmation of selection, and the remaining 50% upon delivery and approval of final work.

Each selected photographer may loan MPB equipment up to a total value of €5,000 for the agreed duration of the project.

Equipment loans are governed entirely by a separate agreement between MPB and the photographer, issued directly by MPB to selected photographers after selection. These Terms do not cover the loan itself — see the agreement MPB provides you.

Production is expected to take place in January 2027, within the agreed loan window.

Selected photographers must deliver final work by 1 February 2027, in the format and specification set out in the project brief provided on selection.

6. Use of your work

You retain copyright in the images and content you create for the Commission. By taking part, you grant Production Paradise and MPB a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to reproduce, publish, and distribute your Commission work — and any behind-the-scenes content you provide — across their websites, social media, newsletters, and other marketing and promotional channels, including paid media, in connection with the Commission and its results, for 24 months from delivery for active promotional use, and in perpetuity for archival and case-study purposes. Production Paradise and MPB will credit you as the photographer wherever practical.

You warrant that your submitted work is entirely your own, original, and does not infringe any third party's rights. Where any person is identifiable in your work, you must have obtained their prior written consent for the use described above and must be able to provide evidence of that consent on request.

Selected photographers may separately be invited by MPB to take part in an optional "In the Field" collaboration (an equipment review illustrated with photos from the Commission) for an additional fee. This is arranged directly between MPB and the photographer and is not a condition of taking part in the Commission.

7. Use of AI

In line with MPB's AI policy, all final images and video submitted as part of the Commission must be captured using a camera during real-world production. AI tools may support your process or workflow, but must not be used to generate final imagery, and any use of AI anywhere in your process must be disclosed to Production Paradise and MPB before production begins. Production Paradise and MPB reserve the right to reject or request the replacement of any content that does not meet this standard.

8. Data protection

Information you submit as part of your application is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
